His Legacy of Life
Mr. Willie Francis, Jr., son of the late Willie Francis, Sr. and Rosa Brown Francis, was born on November 27, 1944, in Walterboro, South Carolina. He departed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
He attended Colleton County Schools. During his lifetime, he was employed at Besteel Inc. as a steel operator for 28 years until they went out of business. He was then employed with the South Carolina Department of Transportation for 16 years as maintenance worker until he retired in 2010.
Willie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Yemassee, South Carolina. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Louvenia Davis in 1966 and to this union three children were born: Jerome, Karen and Linzell.
Willie loved gardening, farming and spending time with his family and friends. He will forever live on and belong to his family and many friends who knew him well.
Preceding him in death are siblings, three brothers, Roosevelt Francis, Joe Francis and Johnny Francis; two sisters, Janie Mae Chisolm and Joyce Williams; six brothers-in-law, Elijah Green, Clifford Chisolm, Harry Myles, Herman Lee Davis, Howard W. Davis and Harry T. Brown; three sisters-in-law, Sarah Francis, Alfreda Davis and Gladys Davis.
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories to his wife of 59 years Louvenia D. Francis of Walterboro, SC; two sons, Jerome (Shan) Francis of Mrytle Beach, SC and Linzell Franics of Walterboro, SC; one daughter, Karen F. (Todd) Williams of Walterboro, SC; four sisters, Elizabeth Green of Columbia, SC, Annie (Robert) Francis. Mary Francis and Debra Francis all of Brooklyn, NY; four brothers, Robert (Nkechi) Francis of Columbia, SC, Leroy Francis and James Frances of Walterboro, SC and Edward Francis of Columbus, GA; eight grandchildren, Terry Jr., Keneon, Rasheen, Kerri, Keith, JaNiah, JaQuan and Natavia; eight great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Virginia (Matthew) Bright, Jeanette Brown, Rev. Curly Mae (Raymond) Teasdell all of Walterboro, SC, Sandra (Larry) Chestnut of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sylvia Ford (Ollie) of Denmark, SC; one brother-in-law, Woodrow Davis (Annette) of Walterboro, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
