Ms. Vanessa Bright went home to be with her eternal and most everlasting father on February 26, 2025, at Lowcountry Community Hospice House in Summerville, South Carolina at the age of 60.
She was the only child born to Sara Bright Allen on July 12, 1964, in Manhattan, New York. Her mother and father, Sara Bright Allen and Joseph James Allen, raised Ms. Bright in New York City where she attended school in the Bronx. She later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems at Pace University and used her degree to work as a Software Developer in New York.
Ms. Bright was a kind and loving person. She loved to share whatever she had with others and everyone who knew her considered her family. She devoted time to helping her children excel in their studies. She loved to watch TV, such as the food network, crime shows, and home remodeling programs. She loved food and would often find herself eating at various restaurants of different cultures.
Ms. Bright moved to Sterling, Virginia in 2012 to work as a Project Manager at Sage. She received a Master of Arts in Project Management at the School of Management at DeVry University in 2012 while raising her daughter, Maya York and son, Johnny Bright. She was there for her son, often traveling to multiple hospitals for his care until he passed away in 2018.
In 2019, Ms. Bright moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she enjoyed attending church and spending time with family and friends until her health started to decline. Ms. Bright was a devoted mother and friend with a joyous spirit.
Preceding her in death are grandparents Cephus and Sarah Reid Bright, parents Sara Bright Allen and Joseph James Allen, and her son Johnny Cephus Bright II. Vanessa leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Ms. Maya Ledell York, uncles, Harry Bright, and Douglas Bright, and a host of other relatives and friends.
