Toney Jenkins was born April 10, 1958, in Walterboro, South Carolina to the late Joseph and Elouise Ford Jenkins. On March 8, 2024, Toney answered the master’s call and traded time for eternity. He departed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Toney affectionately known as “TJ”; was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. He was a dedicated employee at Balchem for Forty-two years.
Toney was a man of few words, yet he spoke wisdom. He said what he said and meant what he said! He was a protector, especially of his family and home. He had a passion for traveling with his wife and son Terreon. He also enjoyed sitting under his oak tree, making jokes with his nephews and those he took under his wing. Toney had a passion for racing and often watched drag racing on YouTube.
Along with his loving parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Andrew Jenkins and one sister, Delores Jenkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 12 years, Linda Jackson-Jenkins “Baby” as he called her. One son; Brad Sentell Graham of Walterboro, South Carolina; two daughters, April Latoya Graham of Walterboro, South Carolina & Dana Taquise Jenkins of Jacksonville, Florida; A precious beloved son, Terreon Gatewood, whom he raised in the home and loved dearly, (My Boy) as he called him; two step children he loved as his own, Kimberly (Terrance) Robinson & Johnny Lee Smalls, Jr., both of Atlanta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Joanne (Franklin) Jenkins, Georgia (James) Jones, Verdie Hugie all of Walterboro, South Carolina & Theresa Hugie of New Jersey; brothers, Rickey Hugie of Walterboro, South Carolina & Clint (Dionne) Hugie of New York; mother-in-law, Sadie Salley of Walterboro, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Candace Merritt of Charleston, South Carolina, Samantha (Jake) Washington of Walterboro, South Carolina & Roberta (Frankie) Osborne of Virginia; brothers-in-law, William (Patricia) Merritt of Atlanta, Georgia, Freddie Salley, Jr., of Charleston, South Carolina, & Rasheen Merritt of New York and one uncle, Herman Ford of New York. He also leaves to cherish his best friends who were more life brothers, James Stephens & Redigo Hosey both of Walterboro, South Carolina; a very special friend Linda Jamison who he referred to as “Mama Linda”, a cousin who he took as a son, Richmond Ford, Jr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
