Mr. Thomas L. Stephens, affectionally known as “Slick”, was born on April 14, 1952, in Colleton County, South Carolina to the late Eddie and Thelma L. Stephens. Early Tuesday morning, December 17, 2024, God called him home.
Thomas was educated by the public schools of Colleton County. He worked in pulp woods with his cousin, the late Hubert Fryar and several other jobs before becoming disabled. He was a member of Red Root United Methodist Church.
Thomas was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was predeceased in death by the love his life, Jannie L. Pinckney and five brothers, Eddie, Jr., Joe Carl, Isaac James, David and Kenneth Stephens.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Kwame Pinckney (Vanessa), Tyeisha Pinckney (fiancé Precious Culliver), Roosevelt Pinckney (Sandra), Karen Pinckney all of Walterboro, SC, Shonda Pinckney (John) of Philadelphia, PA and Devoria Bolden (Jay) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; three sisters, Oveder Andrews (Isaac),Mary Stephens both of Philadelphia, PA and Rosella Johnson (Elroy) of Brooklyn, NY; twenty five loving grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
