Thomas Eugene Lawton was born December 8, 1954, in Walterboro, South Carolina. He was the son to the late Roycie Lawton, Sr. and Annie Mae Pinckney Lawton. He completed his Life’s Work on March 2, 2025, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC. The Angel of Mercy and Love gently escorted him from the busy walk of life and ushered him into his Heavenly Home.
Thomas (Tommy) Eugene Lawton received his education through the Walterboro School System. He earned a reputation for his hard work and dedication as a painter, maintenance worker, and home repairman. In addition, he was a lawn caretaker alongside his dear friend Mr. Peter Lisbon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roycie Lawton Jr., Willie Lee Lawton, Albert Lee Lawton; and two sisters Putronia Ann Pinckney and Jeannette Pearl Jamison.
Thomas (Tommy) Eugene Lawton leaves to cherish his legacy of love, three children: Thomas (Ashley) Lawton Jr. and one Grandson: Tyler Lawton of Hampton VA, Terence Lawton and one daughter: Briana Lawton both of Gastonia NC, four sisters: Carrie Harris of Beaufort SC, Sherry (Michael) Campbell of Spotsylvania VA, Linda (David) McDaniel of Hartwood VA, and Annie (Desi) Haynes of Walterboro SC. one brother: Ronald (Darlene) Lawton of Atlanta, GA; one sister-in-law Annie Ruth Lawton of Beaufort SC, four Aunts: Nadine Pinckney of Walterboro SC, Carmela Ray Pinckney, Aeileen Pinckney and Henrietta Pinckney of Mount Vernon NY and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A close family friend known as another baby sister: Theresa (George) Farmer of Hephzibah GA.
