Tanya Monik Paige

Tanya Monik Paige was born on December 20, 1974, to Alfreda Paige Alexander and Taylor Green. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Tanya attended P.S. 54 and Ronald Evans Learning Center before relocating to Yemassee, SC, in 1991. Tanya graduated from Walterboro High School and became a Certified Nursing Assistant, later obtaining her phlebotomy technician licensure as well. Tanya received an Associate of Science degree and then her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Limestone College in December of 2005.

Tanya is most noted and dearly remembered for her love for God and His people. Whether a warm smile, sweet greeting, delicious meal, or even a place of shelter, Tanya was the purest example of “showing up” and loving others. She was a servant that dedicated her life to caring for everything and everyone- from the cats that roamed her yard, to those in need of rides to doctor appointments and the grocery store. Tanya loved to sing, laugh, spend time with her family and friends, and most importantly she loved her children. Angel and Javon were her world.

Tanya began her faith walk in her late teens, studying the Bible with her younger cousins. She joined Reach Out and Touch ministries in the late 90’s, where she was ordained a minister. Tanya later joined New Covenant Fellowship Ministries of Green Pond, where she sang on the Praise Team and was over the birthday ministry. In 2010, Tanya dedicated herself as a member of Faith and Action Ministries under the divine leadership of Apostle Ollie White. Apostle White nurtured and loved Tanya like her own child, fostering Tanya’s gifts as a member of the praise team, a member of the finance ministry, and one of the Apostle’s aids.

Tanya is preceded in death by her Grandfather: Alfred Paige, Grandmother: Gertrude Paige, Aunts: Florence Richardson, Sally Boone, & Rose Carter, and her beloved Uncle: Robert McNeil.

Tanya leaves to cherish her memory, life, and legacy, her children: Angel Garden, Javon Delaney; Mother: Alfreda Paige Alexander (Mike “Pops” Washington); Siblings: April Paige Doctor (Don), Latisha Paige, Jermale Paige (Madeline); Nieces: Kayanie Williams, Diera Blackwell (Charles), Laila Johnson, Malaysia Johnson; Nephews: Jaden Johnson, Malachi Johnson; Godson: Tonez Wilson; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, caring relatives, church family, family members, and friends.
