Stanley Black, the son of Pernell Crosby and the late George black, was
born September 17, 1953, in Colleton County, South Carolina. He
departed this earthly life on Friday, May 24, 2024, at his home in Maryland.
Stanley was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church where he was a
proud member of the choir, usher board, missionary ministry and the
pastor’s aide ministry. He attended the public schools of Colleton County
and graduated from Ruffin High School. Stanley later moved to Brooklyn,
New York where he joined the army, while working various jobs. He was a
devoted member of the Antioch Baptist Church where he met and married
the love of his life Dorothy Black. Stanley became the first videographer
while serving as a dedicated member of the usher board, missionary
ministry, pastor’s aide ministry, hospitality ministry and what some will call
the “whatever you need me to do committee”.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father (George Black) and his
grandson (Mita).
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Dorothy Black of Maryland;
mother, Pernell Crosby of Walterboro, South Carolina; his only biological
child, Keisha Black of Brooklyn, NY; his four bonus kids, David McCullough,
Gwendolyn McCullough, Patricia Dye (Linell), Randy McCullough of
Harlem, NY; two brothers, his twin Stafford (Shirley) of Brooklyn, NY and
Alphonso Black of Walterboro, South Carolina; four sisters, Sarah (Kenny)
Mays, Linda (Hilton) Fryar of Walterboro South Carolina, Patricia Black of
Smoaks, South Carolina and Lisa (Darrell) Bruce of Darlington, South
Carolina; step brothers, Hugo (Clara) Crosby, Larry (Ella) Crosby and Early
(Rose) Crosby of Ehrhardt, South Carolina; sister in law, Sarah Cooper
Spicer (Louis); brother in law, Phillip Cooper (Lisa) and a host of grands,
great-grands, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends.
