Shirley McFadden, 75, of Walterboro, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2025. A woman of deep faith, unwavering love, and a life dedicated to serving others, Shirley was the true embodiment of strength, compassion, and family.
Born to the late Julius and Queenie Mitchell, Shirley grew up grounded in faith and community. She devoted her life to caring for others, working tirelessly to ensure her family and those in her care were always supported. As a CNA and Hospice Nurse, she touched countless lives with her tender heart, gentle hands, and God-fearing spirit. Shirley truly loved the Lord, and her walk with Him was reflected in everything she did.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Judson McFadden Jr., and siblings James Mitchell, Peter Mitchell, Barbara Miller (Joe Louise), Virginia Mitchell, Sarah Mitchell, a set of triplet siblings, and a set of twin siblings.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children:
Michael McFadden (Taffeny), George McFadden (LaTrice), Chantel McFadden (Duane Foster), and Yolanda McFadden.
Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren:
Makayla McFadden, Michael McFadden Jr., Malcom McFadden, Alanna McFadden, Miles McFadden, Michelle Thomas, Daquan Daniels, Gabrielle Daniels, and Tierra Daniels.
Shirley is survived by her siblings:
Emily Gethers (Herman), Rev. Francis Mitchell Jr. (Jannie), Christina Payne (Henry), Mary Jefferson (Kenneth), Bobby Mitchell, and Stanley Mitchell (Theresa); sisters-in-law Viola Mitchell and Gloria Mitchell; along with her beloved church family of New Jerusalem Holiness Church, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
Shirley was known for her loving and supportive nature, always putting others before herself. She was family-oriented, a hard worker, and a woman whose faith shaped her life. She carried a smile, a prayer, and a helping hand everywhere she went.
