It is with profound sadness and deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Shirley Ann Brothers, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. Shirley peacefully departed this world on April 19, 2026, at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

Born on February 2, 1950, in Cottageville, South Carolina, Shirley was the loving daughter of Fariey and Louise Brothers. The mother of her only child Ms. Tawnya Brothers who recently pass on January 16, 2026. She was one of five siblings and is predeceased by her brothers Charles Brothers and Arthur Lee Brothers, and her sister Serena Wilson. Shirley is survived by her devoted sister, Ruth B. Lynah, who remains to carry on their shared memories and bond, along with her Goddaughter, Latrina Holmes.

 Shirley's journey through life was one marked by dedication, compassion, and service to others. She graduated from Colleton High School in 1967, a milestone that set the stage for a lifetime of accomplishments. Her professional career culminated in her role at Links/Desley Fabrics, where she was esteemed not only for her work ethic but also for the warmth and kindness, she extended to colleagues until her retirement in 2005.

 An active and devout member of the Nazarene Baptist Church, Shirley served as superintendent and secretary, roles in which she demonstrated her unwavering faith and commitment to her community. She was also a proud member of the Bethel Union. Her musical talents shone brightly as the lead singer of the Crusading Angels, a group that spread joy and inspiration through song. In her younger years, she showcased her athletic prowess as a pitcher for the Tigerettes softball team, exemplifying her vibrant spirit and love for life.

Shirley had an array of interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She was an angel on earth, known for treating everyone equally and offering advice rich with wisdom. Her love for singing, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and renovating antiques filled her days with purpose and joy. Above all, she treasured moments spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of her three grandchildren Darius, Dahria, and Tywuan. Also, her three great-grandchildren Zariah, Patience and Ava.

As a woman of grace and empathy, Shirley's legacy is defined by the love and support she extended to all who crossed her path. She was a source of strength and wisdom, providing guidance and comfort to those in need. Her gentle spirit and infectious smile will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Agapé Hospice and the Colleton Medical Center for their compassionate care during Shirley's final moments.

In the words of her family, "We are eternally grateful for the supportive assistance and care provided. Shirley was a beacon of light in our lives, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us."

Shirley Ann Brothers leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. As we say goodbye to Shirley, we celebrate a life that touched so many and left the world a better, brighter place.
