Shelby Tarain Cooper, affectionately known as “Boobie” and “Tori’ the son of Joanne Williams and Leroy Brown was born August 2, 1991, in Charleston, SC. Shelby transitioned from mortality to immortality on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
Shelby attended school in Colleton County, South Carolina.
Preceding him in death are two grandmothers, Mary E. Cooper and Anna Brown; two grandfathers, Isiah “Gus” Cooper and Jose Brown; one aunt, Gwendolyn Washington; two uncles, Robert Isiah Cooper and Hosea Brown.
Left on this side to cherish his memories are his beautiful children, ShaTori Cooper, JaCori Mitchell both of Walterboro, SC, and Kash Cooper of Cottageville, SC; a caring mother, Joanne Cooper, and father, Leroy (Cheryl) Brown of Walterboro, SC; two sisters, Sieta Williams of Walterboro, SC, and Angelia (Ivan) Anderson, Hope Mills, NC; one brother, Kevin (Trastine) Saxby of Douglasville, GA; five aunts, Elizabeth Glaze of Walterboro, SC, Cleo Fryar-Roswell of Ruffin, SC, Vivian (Kenneth)Pendergrass of Charleston, SC, Anita Ford of Yemassee, SC and Gwendolyn (David) Wilson of Hardeeville, SC; two uncles, Osbourne Cooper and Robert Lee (Gayle) Brown , both of Walterboro, SC; two great aunts, Lillie Mae (James) Manigo of Yemassee, SC and Shirley (Amos) Ford of Elgin, SC; one great uncle, Eddie (Louella) Williams of Walterboro, SC.; four nieces, Madison Murray of Walterboro, SC, Keya Anderson, of Hope Mills, NC and Jayla Saxby, of Douglasville, GA; seven nephews, Jaylin Murray of Walterboro, SC, Xavier Anderson of Anchorage, AK, Ivan Anderson of Hope Mills, NC, Joshua Saxby and Devin Saxby of Douglasville, GA along with beloved niece, Shamari Clayton and nephews, Ja’Lon and Dior Thomas of the home, along with a host of cousins, friends and his special friend, Shaquana Pinckney.
