Remembering Her
Sally Fair Richardson was born on November 1, 1949, to the late Benjamin and Bessie M. Fair Sr. She peacefully departed this life on October 16, 2025 at her residence.
Sally received her early education in the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School in 1968. Shortly after, she married Hardy Richardson Jr. in 1969, who also preceded her in death.
Throughout her life, Sally was known for her strong work ethic and leadership. She served as manager for several local businesses, including two laundry services, Burger King and Subway, from which she retired. With an enduring desire to help others, she later accepted a position with the Colleton County School District, where she retired for a second time.
In 1974, Sally dedicated her life to Jehovah and began sharing Bible truths with her family, friends, and even strangers. Though health challenges eventually limited her ability to go door to door, she remained steadfast in her ministry—choosing instead to write heartfelt letters and make countless phone calls to continue spreading "The Word."
Sally was preceded in death by brothers, Benjamin Fair Jr., David (Daniel) Fair, and Samuel Fair; sisters, Gladys F. Elliott and Lou-Bertha F. Oliver and two beloved grandchildren, Daniel Berbick and Imajea D. Holmes.
She leaves to cherish her memories six devoted children, Joseph (Linda) Fair of Gaffney, SC, Curtis (Evelina) Fair of Walterboro, SC, Hardy (Uronka) Richardson of Pennsylvania, Monica (Sinclair) Holmes of Walterboro, SC, Erika (Tyrone) Jenkins of Morrow, GA and Yolanda (Jeff) Richardson-Berbick of Florida; 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Barbara F. Boswell of Walterboro, SC; four sisters-in-law: Vera Bowman, Kathy Fair, Carrie Jane Fair, and Lisa Robinson; five brothers-in-law: Clyde Richardson, Anderson Richardson, Walter Gant, Wesley Maynard, and Harvey Oliver; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends.
Special thanks to Mary Pinckney and Brenda Jones for your grace, patience, kindness, and unwavering prayers. Your loving support meant so much to Sally and the family.
Sally’s gentle spirit, enduring faith, and deep love for family and community will remain in our hearts forever.
