The Obituary
Ronald Kelly was born on April 21, 1956, to the late Mary and Matthew Kelly. He peacefully departed this life on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina. Ronald was the tenth of fourteen children.
He attended Colleton County Schools and later joined Job Corps, where he earned his GED and a degree in Construction. Ronald worked as a painter and continued to serve his community through countless acts of kindness and helping hands. During his years of good health, there was never a time when you could call on Ronald and he would not show up—he was always available to lend support to family, friends, and neighbors alike.
Ronald was a fun-loving man with a generous and kind heart. His smile could brighten anyone’s day, and his presence brought joy to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Matthew Kelly; sisters, Mayaline Garden and Laura Ann Kelly; and brothers, Charles Edward Kelly and Matthew Kelly, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Shalonda Kelly; two daughters, Ronneashia Kelly and Shaneyshia Kelly; five sons, Earl (Audrey) Ruth, Jamarla (Tamika) Varner, Jaronald (Auriel) Varner, Nate Pelzer, and Shawn Kelly; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings, Billy Kelly, Grace Kelly, Thomas (Von) Kelly, Harris Kelly, Donald Kelly, Joseph Kelly, and Victoria Kelly.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Deloris Sanders; sisters-in-law, Tammy Sanders, Donna Sanders, Tanesia Sanders, Nicole Sanders, and Katie Sanders; brothers-in-law, David Sanders, Sr. and David Wright; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
Ronald will be remembered for his selflessness, laughter, and the love he shared with everyone he met.
