Rev. Elijah Lenard Broughton “Dreamer” was born August 26, 1970, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Rev. Elijah Broughton was united and holy matrimony to Kimberly Broughton on January 24, 1989, and to this great union two children were born and raised with love.
He was a 1987 graduate of Walterboro High School. Upon graduating he went to truck driving school. His last place of employment was Bootle logging of Whitehall, South Carolina. Rev. Elijah Broughton was also a member of Masonic Lodge #221.
At an early age, he accepted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his personal savior he answered the pastoral call at Antioch Baptist Church in Jacksonboro, South Carolina for the past 23 years.
In June 2023, during the National Holy Convocation, Pastor Elijah Broughton was honored with the appointment of Bishop Elect under the Greater New Jerusalem Apostolic Free Church Assemblies Worldwide Inc., led by Dr. G. Anderson and the Joint College of Bishops. This appointment was a testament to his unwavering faith and exemplary holy lifestyle over the past eleven years of being associated with this specific ministry. His name was submitted for consecration as Bishop, scheduled for the spring of 2025, a role he deeply aspired to fulfill in service to God and His people.
Rev. Elijah Broughton heard the call from heaven, and he answered on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Jimmy Brock; grandparents, John and Oni Brock and James and Francine Broughton and one Aunt, Edith Goodwine.
He leaves behind a legacy of love to be carried on by his wife whom he loved dearly, Kimberly Broughton of Walterboro, South Carolina; two daughters, Shatara (Gerald) Broughton of Pooler, Georgia and Shatema Broughton of Walterboro, South Carolina; adopted daughter: Tatyana Singleton; two grandchildren. Ky’Lan Anderson and Kamera Anderson of Pooler, Georgia; mother, Joyce Broughton of Walterboro, South Carolina; one brother Theodore (Aisha) Broughton of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; four sisters, Sharee Broughton of Walterboro, South Carolina, Christy (Brian) Givens of Walterboro, South Carolina, Inger (Michael) Wheeler of Columbia, South Carolina and Ashley Brock of Summerville, South Carolina along with other cousins, relatives, friends and church family.
