Rena Mae White Frasier was born on September 20, 1959, in Green Pond, South Carolina to the late Reverend James Edward Murray and Mrs. Lillie Mae White. She entered eternal rest on March 28, 2025.
At an early age, Rena Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and joined Mount Olive AME in 1969. She worked at Colonial restaurant and Colleton County Health Clinic in Walterboro during her teenage years. She graduated from Walterboro High School in 1978. She loved spending time with her father who would take her on picnics and shopping. Her mother was her best friend, and they would talk daily. She learned how to cook at a young age from her mother. Her faith and commitment to serving the Lord can be attributed to her loving parents instilling in her “with God, all things are possible.”
Rena Mae met the love of her life and future husband in 1979. Thomas Frasier was serving in the United States Army and was about to relocate to Germany. They decided to go together and spend the next few years in Illesheim, Germany where they would travel to different countries including France, Australia, and Switzerland. From there, Thomas was stationed to Fort Campbell Army base and relocated to Clarksville, TN. Thomas and Rena Mae were married in 1981. They were blessed with their first child in 1981, a beautiful daughter, Selika. They were blessed with another beautiful girl, Sandra in 1982. In 1983, they welcomed a handsome son, Thomas Jr.
Rena Mae started working in 1989 at Embassy Suites in Nashville, TN (one hour ride). She was a very hard worker and would help others as much as possible. She worked her way up from a housekeeper to Executive Manager, achieving many goals and earning a lot of awards for her dedication and work ethic. If she worked the weekends, many times she would get the family a room to stay in for a family getaway. She finally decided to retire in 2009, after twenty years helping Embassy Suites grow into a top hotel in Nashville, TN.
The family found a church home at The Hour of Prayer under the late Pastor Larry Cobb in 1991. The family would receive an amazing blessing and expand with the addition of a handsome son, Antonio, in 1992. In 2012, under the leadership of Pastor Thomas Frasier and First Lady Rena Frasier, PowerHouse C.O.G.I.C. was established in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Rena Mae remained a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior until she was called home. She woke up every morning praising and praying to her Heavenly Father. She would go to bed praising and praying to her Heavenly Father. She would hold Bible study and testify about God’s greatness to anyone who came into her presence. She was always a clean and organized woman, loved to keep her house immaculate and keep beautiful furniture. She was blessed to welcome her first grandbaby on April 13, 2001, a beautiful girl whom she named after her mother Lillie Mae. She loved and raised Lillie Mae as her own. On February 9, 2024, she welcomed her first great-granddaughter Zara. Rena Mae was a very kind woman with a big heart to help everyone. Her love and affection will be deeply missed. Her big smile would brighten the room, and her laughter could be heard miles away.
Rena was preceded in death by her parents, James Murray and Lillie Mae White. Those left to cherish her precious memories include her husband of 45 years, Pastor Thomas Frasier; children Selika Frasier, LaShandra Frasier, Thomas Jerod Frasier Jr, Antonio Frasier (Ruby); grand-daughter Lillie Mae Frasier; great grand-daughter Zara; siblings Richard Dean Whitlock, Carey White, Anthony Wilson, Herman White; sisters-in-law Angus Frasier, Loretta Kirkland (Reverend Nathan), Theresa Kirkland (Michael), Ann Sheppard; brother-in-law Charles Frasier (Sharon) and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
