“A Time to be Born” …Rebecca B. Campbell was born on May 02, 1935, in Charleston, SC to the late Mr. John Brown, Sr. and Mrs. Anna Johnson Brown.
“A Time to Plant” ...Rebecca accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mt Zion AME Church 5 Glebe Street Charleston SC.
“Education and a Time to Work” ...Rebecca received her early education at Buist Elementary and then attended Burke Industrial High School in the Class of 1954 in Charleston, SC. She further her education at North Carolina State College with a Bachelor Degree in Science. Further, she worked with the Dept. of Social Services. She was also an entrepreneur. In addition, she was the Historian for the family. Rebecca B. Campbell is profiled in the International African American Museum of Charleston, South Carolina.
“A Time to Live” ...Rebecca was loved by many. Her love for those was beyond measure though her love for Family history. She made many friends and acquaintances. She gave herself as freely, never asking for much in return.
“It’s Time to say Goodbye” …Rebecca transitioned from earthly labor on June 16, 2025. The Book of Life shall not close on Rebecca B. Campbell for her spirit, wisdom, strength, dignity, love and life lives on in the lives of her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Campbell; siblings; John Brown, Sr, Mildred Brown, Henry Brown, Sr, and Catherine B. Braxton.
Rebecca leaves to cherish her loving memories; a very special and devoted niece Octavia Milligan of Charleston, SC; niece Jacqline Brown; nephews Michale Brown, Henry Brown, Jr., and Randolph Braxton all of New York; a very loving and devoted grandniece Benqueshya Milligan of Atlanta, GA; very special cousins Lloyd (Willa) Fields of Green Pond, SC and Esther (Joseph) of Connecticut; special friends Mr. and Mrs. Bob and Margaret Seidler and a host of other relatives and friends.
