Reather Frasier Obituary

Reather Frasier, lovingly known to many as “Retha,” peacefully entered eternal rest on February 7, 2026. Born on April 4, 1936, she lived a life that reflected steadfast faith, sacrificial love, and devoted service to God and to others. A woman of wisdom and true class, Retha carried herself with grace and dignity—leaving a lasting impression through her presence, her counsel, and the love she so freely gave.

Retha attended Walterboro High School, she later met her first husband, Solomon Green Sr. From that union, they were blessed with three children. After Solomon’s passing, God later joined Retha in marriage to Sammy Frasier, and through that union she lovingly gained eleven additional children, embracing each one with the same warmth, guidance, and devotion that defined her life.  In her earlier years, Retha worked at the Country Miss Dress Factory in Walterboro as an industrial apparel manufacturing technician, known for her attention to detail and steady dedication

Retha’s greatest love was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful, well respected and dedicated member of Lighthouse Tabernacle, where she was known as a mighty prayer warrior, a source of strength for many, and a woman who interceded and stood in the gap for others without hesitation. She also poured herself into mentoring the youth, guiding them with wisdom, patience, and compassion, always pointing them back to Christ.

Retha was a caretaker in the truest sense of the word. She served others freely expecting nothing in return—through meals prepared with love, prayers spoken with power, and life advice offered with gentleness and truth, relating every situation back to God’s Word. Her faith wasn’t something she simply spoke about; it was something she lived, daily.

In addition, she cherished community and fellowship. Retha was a proud member of the Green Pond Senior Center, where she made many dear friends who became like family—sharing laughter, encouragement, and companionship.

Her favorite scripture was a testimony of how she lived:

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” — Psalm 119:11

She loved her family fiercely and faithfully. She also had a special affection for her cats, who brought her comfort and joy. Retha’s legacy is one of devotion—devotion to God, devotion to family, and devotion to serving others with humility and grace. Her legacy can be seen in the lives she shaped and the strong values she instilled. Her life was a reminder that true strength is often quiet, consistent, and rooted in love.

Even as we mourn her passing, we take comfort in God’s promise that she is now at peace—resting in the presence of the Lord she loved with all her heart and served with unwavering faith. Her prayers, her love, and the strength of her legacy will live on through her children, her family, and every life she touched and uplifted.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

Retha was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sammy Frasier and former spouse Solomon Green, Sr.; her parents Cyrus & Ophelia Smith; her siblings Geraldine Ford, Elizabeth Frasier, Frankie Smith, Henry Smith, and April Smith; and her children Larry Green, Sarah Helen Blue, Elijah Frasier, and Sammy Frasier Jr.

Retha is lovingly remembered by her children: Solomon Green II (Carrie), Anthony Green (Lisa), Lou Ethel Scott (William), Janie Mae Frasier, Henrietta Rivers, Mary Lee Lane, Rosa Mae Frasier, Gloria Elbert (Richard), Sara Frasier, Dannie Frasier (David), Ama Dubois, Loutricia Sanders (John), Roslyn Buckner (Harvey), son-in-law Leenoris Blue, and daughter-in-law Deborah Green.

She is also survived by her siblings Mary Singleton, Sarah Tucker, and David Smith (Janet), and sister-in-law Brenda Smith.

Retha also leaves as part of her lasting legacy a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in Christ, and many cherished friends whose lives were blessed by her love, prayers, and example.
