Ramona Bodison Wilson was born on August 18th ,1949 to the late Madison Bodison and Eleanor Vernett Bodison. Ramona was affectionately known to most as Sug, her grandmother, Ada gave her this name, because she couldn’t pronounce Ramona. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Pruitt Health in Walterboro, SC.
Sug attended the Snipes School in Round O, SC. Later she attended and graduated from Colleton High School in 1967.
She joined the Mt Sinai Baptist Missionary Church at an early age. Before her health failed her; she attended church faithfully and was a dedicated member of the senior choir. She Loved the Lord and would sing and whistle gospel songs as she went about her day. She would say. “If I live it’s okay and if I die it’s okay because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. 2 Corinthians 5:8.
Ramona worked in housekeeping most of her younger years. She retired after working for the Tracey’s for over 30 years, as their manager. Sug managed their laundromat as well as their apartments and houses. When Ramona was not working on those jobs, you could find her in a fishing hole in Colleton and Beaufort Counties.
