Obituary
Perry Anthony Kittrell, affectionately known as “Po-Po”, was born on December 26, 1960, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to Elijah Kittrell, Sr. and the late Bessie May Jennings Kittrell. On Friday, November 21, 2025, Perry entered eternal rest at his residence.
He attended Colleton County Public Schools and later dedicated over 30 years of service as a beloved custodian with the Colleton County School District, retiring in 2023. Working in the school system was his passion—he cherished being around the children and staff, always offering kindness and quiet strength.
Perry was soft-spoken and humble, yet his presence was deeply felt. He enjoyed cleaning fish and wild animals for family and friends, riding his bike, playing cards, and spending time with loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie may Jennings-Kittrell; his aunt, Ella Mae Adams: brothers, Charles Kittrell and Arnold Ellison; nephews, Christopher Powell, Lamont Kittrell and great niece, Shaniyah Burden.
He is survived by his father, Elijah Kittrell, Sr.; brother, Elijah Kittrell, Jr.; sister, Ruby Louise Kittrell; aunt, Lillie Mae Mitchell; uncles, Charles Mitchell and Harry Adams; nieces, Tamekia, Aleshia, Shakeir’a; nephew, Germaine, great-nieces, Destiny, Shayvaugh, Lamonya, A’shirah, Saryniti, Sharmere, and Sierra; great- nephews, Ricardo, Jr., Drekwon, Jermarius, Ah’mar, Tydrion and Kasen; two great-great nephews; Josiah and Tru; his extended Glover Family whom he cherished dearly; and dedicated friends, Duval Adams, Henry Mulligan, Jimmy Seabrook and Joanne Barnett, along with host of cousins, family and friends.
Perry’s legacy is one of quiet dedication, love for his community, and devotion to family. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his laughter at the card table, and the countless lives he touched through his work and friendship.
