Patricia Williams Fishburne

Ms. Patricia Williams Fishburne was born on Tuesday, February 8, 1949, in Walterboro, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Munn and Edward Isadore Maree. Her loving grandparents raised Pat, the late Thomas and Kate (Turner) Williams.

As a youth, Pat became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, later named New Life United Methodist Church, where she was an active member until her health declined. She found so much joy in singing in the choir, being a part of the older adult ministry, and cooking for any occasion. She was always helpful and willing to lend a helping hand.

Pat was educated in the Colleton County public school system and graduated from Colleton High School in the class of 1967. After graduating from high school, she earned her cosmetology license from Denmark Technical College and began her career as a young, fabulous hairstylist at Hodges Beauty Salon. She then furthered her work interest into the food industry and became a dietary aid/cook for Colleton Regional Hospital.   After 48 years of service, Pat retired from Colleton Medical Center.  After retirement, Pat could not keep still and accepted employment at the Colleton County Sheriff's Department where she cooked and encouraged inmates to seek a better life. 

Pat was a Huge Ray of Love who was always an instrumental part of her Turner Family Reunions. She had an unbreakable bond with the family that will never be forgotten. She always expressed her love for her family, friends, church, and community.

Pat leaves to cherish her loving, sweet, and kind, memories one daughter, Kelly Sheree Truley of North Charleston, SC; (predeceased son) Vondeste Andre Fishburne of Walterboro, SC; two granddaughters, Amber Patricia (Benjamin Theodore Sr.) Wright of Douglasville, GA and August Olivia Noel Truley of Houston, TX; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie Andrea Wright and Benjamin Bleu Wright of Douglasville, GA; three brothers, William Maree (Sandra) of Columbia, SC and Derek Williams of Waterbury, CT; (predeceased) Thomas Brown of Walterboro, SC; two sisters Edith Williams of San Francisco, CA and Edrina Maree of Bronx, NY; (predeceased) Linda Williams of Waterbury, CT; two aunts, Marcella Maree Goodwin of Charleston, SC and Kathleen Williams of Valdosta, GA; cousins, Brenda K. Williams of Albany, GA  and  Lydia L.  Williams of Bladensburg, MD and a special aunt that grow up with her like a sister, Barbara La Verne Maree Capers of Columbia, SC; sister cousin, Stephanie Vanessa Mitchell of Walterboro, SC; special friends, Debbie Truesdale, Terry Stephens, Leonida Moore and Pearl Bostic; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and prior dietary coworkers from the Colleton Medical Center.
