Mrs. Ollie Mae Todd, daughter of the late Jervey Farmer Sr. and Dena Middleton Farmer, was born November 25, 1933 in Cottageville South Carolina. Ollie departed this life Friday, October 8, 2021 in Summerville South Carolina. She is much loved and will be greatly missed. However we know in our hearts that she is with God and family in a joyous reunion, and that fills our hearts with joy.
She attended the public schools of Colleton County. At an early age she moved to Florida to be with her older sisters Ellen and Alice. In Florida she met her true love and husband James (Peanie) Todd. The two lived in various cities in Florida including Key West, Miami and Tampa. Much to the delight of her grandchildren, they settled in Titusville (near Disney) for a number of years. After James’ death, Ollie decided to return to South Carolina to be near family and friends. She lived and worked in Summerville until she retired. During that time she was able to see and support the growth of her family, rekindle old relationships and make new family and friends. After retirement she settled in Walterboro S.C. where she found an open and loving church home. At New Life United Methodist Church she opened her arms and heart to yet more family and friends.
In addition to her Mother and Father, Ollie was preceded in death by her daughter Johnnie Mae Hodges. Her sisters: Ellen Spell, Alice Fields, and Azalee Johnson. Her brothers: Jervey Farmer Jr, Edward Farmer, Kenneth Farmer and George Shider. Her niece: Elizabeth Lewis. Her nephews: Jervey Fields, Kenneth Farmer Jr (Lynetta), and Edward Farmer.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Reginald Farmer (Stacey) Columbia Md; Felicia Brown (James) Summerville SC; Tina Hodges Tampa Fl; Faye Clavier (Henri) Summerville SC; and Gwendolyn Hodges Tampa Fl. She shared a special maternal relationship with her eldest nephew Glenn Farmer (Margaret) Cottageville SC. Likewise she shared a sister-like bond with Mary Helen (Jervey) Fields. And there was no greater friend than Ms. Jackie Williams. The family is so appreciative of that relationship. Additionally there is a host of great and grand nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who also called her Mamie, Amy, Auntee and Ms. Ollie.
