Ms. Heather Maria Cox

Ms. Heather Maria Cox, daughter of Mrs. Marsha Bodison Cox & Mr. Henry Cox, was born September 19, 1977, in Charleston SC. Educated in the public schools of Colleton County, Heather, graduated Walterboro High School class of 1996. She furthered her education at Beta Tech in North Charleston, where she later received her certification in Secretary Administration. Heather was a hard worker and made sure that she was able to always provide for herself and her family.  She most recently was the operations manager for the Hawthorne Suites by Wyndham of North Charleston, SC.

Since a young age, Heather has always believed that God was her life. At eleven years old, Heather accepted the Lord as her Savior and became a member of the Greater St. Jude Church of Walterboro, SC.  Heather was a devoted active member of the ministry and even sang as a soloist during services and along with the choir.   

Heather was a true jewel of life and if you knew her, you knew that she lived life to the fullest, enjoying every moment, as best as she could.  She loved to laugh, joke, and she was truly the life of the party wherever she was. She enjoyed spending time with friends & family, but most of her time was spent loving and cherishing her daughter. Together, these two would dance, sing, gossip and laugh about any and everything under the sun.  Their bond was unbreakable, and she was always there. 

During the early hours of May 5, 2023, Heather traded her time on earth for an eternity with her Heavenly Father. A beloved daughter, esteemed mother, devoted sister, aunt, friend and so much more; the portraits of her life, will forever be remembered by all who knew and cherished her.

Left to embrace fond memories of a jewel of life, are: loving daughter, Kiawanna Burgess of Goose Creek, SC; parents: Henry and Marsha Cox of Walterboro, SC; siblings: Anaya Cox of Atlanta, GA and Henrica Cox of Walterboro, SC; Jarian Martino of Summerville, SC; Tony McPherson of Walterboro, SC; and Reverend Keith Stevens of Walterboro, SC: Special aunt known as “Mama Hazel”  of Walterboro, SC: Godfather, Tyrone Inabinett:  god children, Zion Brunson, Demi Jeremiah, and Charisma Fishburne: special friends; Latoyia Williams, Janece Tann, Scherazade Davis and Lillian George: two special cousins: Lashanda Brunson and Theresa Cox: along with a host of numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other cousins and friends.
