Mrs. Gloria Walker, born on July 19, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York; was the daughter of the late, Gloria Helena and Harry Nathaniel Stewart. As a youth, Gloria was reared and received her formal education in Queens. Entering adulthood, she would enter the workforce and for over thirty years, she would be a childcare provider, nurturing and caring for numerous children as her own.
In 1973, Gloria would find true love and be joined in Holy Matrimony; and from this union, seven wonderful children would be born. As time brings changes and the marriage dissolved; Gloria dedicated her life to raising and providing the best home for her children; ensuring the love of God and people. After spending a vast majority of her life up North, Gloria relocated to Summerville, South Carolina. In 2010, she became a member of Holy Spirit Church of God in Jesus #2 and continued walking in the faith of God and serving Him wholeheartedly.
Some will remember Gloria as the “queen of Pac Man” or as the “undefeated hand ball champion.” Someone who mastered the art of crochet and provided warm blankets to all. Someone who made sure she baked a cake for every loved one’s birthday. Someone who provided home cooked meals, just so you’d feel her love. Someone who mastered cherishing and collecting memories through scrapbooking. Someone who taught Sunday School and bible study in her home, whenever she could not make it to church. Someone who was determined to put God first above all things. Gloria had many passions, but her greatest passion was the love of family and God.
During the morning hours of Monday: January 2, 2023; Gloria gained her wings and departed from her earthen vessel to receive her home in glory. Preceding her in death along with her parents are, two siblings, Vera and Boobie. Precious portraits of her life will forever be cherished by: her children, Gregory Walker (Tomeko), Micheal Walker, Anitha Walker, Sherebar Walker, Moses Walker (Priscilla), Goldie Walker (Tony) and Ebony Walker: five siblings; Harriet, Helena, Michelle, Francis, and Gucci: loving grandchildren; Katisha, Jahlisa, Clinshaun, Jascianna, Serenity, Monet, Moses Jr., Jeremiah, William, Gloria, Mary, Ebony, Angel, Samarah, Marcus, Dazani, Jonathan, Isaiah, Eric, Amani, Toni, and Akila: her great-grandchildren Miguel, Kevin, Harper, Kailani, Kaiara, Kinsley and Axel: beloved and devoted Carmen: along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend.
