Ms. Catherine Wright

We announce the passing of Ms. Catherine Wright. A resident of Walterboro, South Carolina, Ms. Wright, (63), life is celebrated by her children, siblings, and all who knew and loved her.

Catherine “Cat” Wright was born on November 16, 1956 in White Hall, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Green Sr. and Mamie Wright Green. Catherine entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC.

Catherine graduated from Howard High School in 1974 and continued her education at the University of Delaware. Catherine was a Taxation Constable for the Wilmington Delaware Division of Revenue for 14 years. She also served as a private duty caregiver in Delaware and South Carolina. Catherine spent majority of her life in Wilmington, Delaware and returned to South Carolina in 2007. Catherine enjoyed having fun with friends and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father Nathaniel Green Sr., and mother Mamie Wright Green. Grandmothers: Geneva Wright and Emily Smith. Grandfather Oscar Wright Sr., Two brothers: Nathaniel Green Jr. and Andre Green Sr. Five aunts: Mary Green, Albertha Gilmer, Leola Wright, Lillian Smith and Esther Wright. Three uncles: Jim Green, Nathaniel Wright Sr. and Oscar Wright Jr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories two sons: Derick Wright (Latoy) New Castle, DE and Michael Pritchett (Angela) of Northeast, MD. Grandchildren: Nadir Wright and Talib Wright both of New Castle, DE, Michael Pritchett III, Julie Pritchett and Emily Pritchett all of Northeast, MD. Three sisters: Eileen Heyward and Gennell Smalls of Walterboro, SC and Monica Coston (Granville) of Newark, DE. Three nieces: Victoria Heyward of North Charleston, SC, Stephanie Heyward of Walterboro, SC and Darylnita Coston of Newark, DE. Three nephews: Andre Green Jr., Aaron Green both of New Castle, DE and Omar Smalls Columbia, SC. One sister in law Sharon Green of New Castle, DE. Three uncles: Anthony Wright Sr., Jervie Wright Sr. (Lucille) of White Hall, SC and Bennie Wright Sr. (Beverly) of Wilmington, DE. Seven aunts: Annette Gethers (Richard Lee) of Ritter, SC, Susie Kinnery (Robert) of Jersey City, NJ, Willie Mae Morgan of Akron, OH, Florrie Elliot (Al), and Louise Smith of Brooklyn, NY, Anna Huggins and Carol Smith of White Hall, SC, Margaret Green of Green Pond, SC. A host of cousins and friends.
