Mrs. Sylvia Theresa Pope Johnson, daughter of the late, Louise Ethel Pope and Edward S. Richardson; was born, March 22, 1967, in the Bennett’s Point area of Green Pond, South Carolina. Raised in her birth home, she was educated in the public-school systems of Colleton County. From her youth, Sylvia believed in God and was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. Upon graduating from high school, Sylvia left South Carolina to head North. She would make her new home in Harlem, New York and reside there for over the next twenty years.
Sylvia loved life and her family and especially cherished every moment she had with her children and grandchildren, which also included lots of dancing. She laughed and danced and was the life of the party. She was a “Southern” girl who loved sweet tea and Pepsi. She also had a love for fashion and always wore her favorite colors, red and black.
Finding love, Sylvia met Mr. Stanley Terry and on October 31, 2020, the two became one as they were joined in Holy Matrimony. On Wednesday: April 6, 2022, Sylvia departed from this earthly life.
