Mrs. Shirley Diane Kelly

Mrs. Shirley Diane Sanders Kelly (69) was a daughter of the late Deacon Laurie and Sister Maggie Lee Haynes Sanders. On Friday, September 17, 2021; she entered peacefully into
eternal rest surrounded by family at her residence in Walterboro, South Carolina. She was born June 18, 1952 and raised in Round O, South Carolina. Diane grew up in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. She was educated in the public schools of Colleton County and graduated from Colleton High School. Diane’s children were the love of her life. She was a loving and dedicated granny, affectionately known as

“Grandma.” She enjoyed having her grands and great-grands around her. She was an awesome cook and did not mind cooking and feeding anyone that she encountered. During the Relay for Life event, the bus drivers would sponsor a tent, and Diane always delighted in taking the lead in cooking the food. She even started making breakfast for those bus drivers that wanted to participate. Over the years her work history included working as a short-order cook at Burger King, working at Holiday Inn, and for more than 25 years she dedicated her life as a bus driver, transporting children for the Colleton County School District. In 1972 she was united in holy matrimony to Harris Kelly and to this union four children were born.
 

Diane will be sadly missed but will live on forever in the hearts of all those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters. Diane leaves to
cherish her beautiful memories: Sha-Wanda Brown (Ray), LaToya Holmes (Julius) of Walterboro, South Carolina; Harris Latravis Kelly of Athens, Georgia; Ty-Sheika Kelly (Jersey), and Dontrai Kelly of Walterboro, South Carolina; seventeen grandchildren, six great-grands, and four bonus grands; two sisters, Willie Bee Holmes and Maggie Ford both of Walterboro; three brothers, Ervin Sanders of Round O, South Carolina, Leroy Sanders (Tina) of Washington DC, and Willie Sanders (Margaret) of New York; a very special friend, Joe Fred Glover, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
