“Celebrating a Legacy”
Mrs. Peggy Ann Miley Nesbitt, was the daughter of the late Buster Murphy Miley, Sr. and Inez Tucker Miley. The vibrant and strong-willed Peggy was born on October 16, 1950 in Walterboro, SC. She departed this life on October 6, 2023 at Trident Medical Center. Education was always important to Peggy. She was educated in the public schools of Colleton County and a proud graduate from the Colleton High School (Wolverines) class of 1968. She received an Associate of Business Administration and a Diploma of Cosmology from Denmark Technical College. She later retired from the Colleton County School District in 2018.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. You could always count on Peggy to greet you with a smile and she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was the oldest matriarch of her family, and with Peggy, family always came first. She loved and adored her daughters and was very proud of all of them. Her grandchildren meant the world to her as well. Peggy had a humble spirit and she always loved to cook. She loved spending time with her family enjoying food, good music, fun, dancing, or just watching a movie.
Peggy was a member of New Life United Methodist Church in Walterboro, SC; under the leadership of Pastor Angela Ford Nelson. Peggy served with the United Women in Faith, the stewardess board, and the kitchen committee. Peggy had a willing heart and she loved to serve the Lord.
Along with her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother Buster Murphy Miley, Jr., brother Fredrick Miley, sister Bertha Mayes, sister Ida Mae Miley, sister-in-law Hazel Miley, and nephew Roderick Miley.
Left to cherish the beautiful memories of her life are children Rishonda Miley, Robin Nesbitt (LaShena), Charmaine Dottery El (William). Step-children: Reubin Nesbitt (Renell), Jacqueline Nesbitt, Andrea Nesbitt, Charlene Barnes-Williams, Terrance Nesbitt, Keith Barnes. Grandchildren: Autumn Nesbitt, Ocorrion Sales, Savion Dais, Cam’Ron Dottery, Javari Nesbitt, Deriyah Dottery El, Maddison Dottery El, and Samaad Dottery El. Great- grandchild: Amerie Maynard. Peggy also had a host of step-grandchildren as well. Only sister Reatha Mae Miley. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
