Mrs. Odessa R. ("Ms. Mary") Harden

Respectfully, we honor the life of Mrs. Odessa Rouse Harden, 82. Mrs. Harden, affectionately known as "Ms. Mary", was a resident of Walterboro, South Carolina

Ms. Odessa Rouse Harden, daughter of the late Mr. Norman Rouse, Sr. and Mrs. Ora Lee Jackson-Rouse,
was born in Allendale, South Carolina on July 27, 1937.
Odessa was educated through the Allendale County Public School System. She was employed with
Palmetto Boarding Home of Walterboro, South Carolina from 1989 to 1998, providing assisting living
care for the residents. In her free time you would find her cooking, sewing, reading her Bible and
encouraging others in the word.
She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and continued her
walk with him. She was a member of Lift Up Jesus Tabernacle under the leadership of the late Pastor
Mary B. McKay. Odessa later joined Word for Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Eric J.
Campbell.
On Friday, September 20, 2019, at Roper Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, she heard
the Master’s call and she took His hand and journeyed to that land where there is no pain or suffering,
just peace eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Norman
Rouse Jr. and adoptive son Israel Koger.
Her life living will forever be a testament and those moments will forever be cherished by her children;

Koger of Walterboro, South Carolina, adoptive children, Janie Hickman of Conway, South Carolina,
James (Albertha) Koger of Yemassee, South Carolina, Harry Farmer of Cape Charles, Virginia and Ernest
George (Theresa) Farmer of Augusta, Georgia, grandchildren, Antonio Harden, Shemeka Harden and
Demetrius Rhodes all of Allendale, South Carolina and nine great grandchildren and three close friends,
Judy Koger, JoAnn
