Mrs. Mary Magwood North was the daughter of George and Edith Walker, born on December 18, 1946 in Cottageville, South Carolina. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at her home in Walterboro, South Carolina.
She received her education from Colleton County Public School Systems. She was faithfully employed by Exxon Chemical and gave 20 years of service to Colleton County School District. Her passion was spending time in the Special Education Department.
She was united into holy matrimony to Arnold A. Magwood in the spring of 1972. To this union, 2 children were born. Tammy Katrina Magwood of Walterboro, South Carolina and Arnold A. Magwood, II (Deborah). She was grandmother of Arnold A. Magwood, III ‘Trae’ and Loryn Michelle Magwood all of Columbia, South Carolina. She later married Jack D. North on July, 17, 1983. Throughout her life, she shortly resided in New York and Mainz, Germany. It was here she found a passion for travel and life long friends.
Mary attended Faith Church and believed that tithing is the only investment will last forever and we give because we have been so abundantly blessed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. North and her parents, Edith and George Walker. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Corine Nesbitt and her brothers, George H. Walker, Jimmy C. Walker, Thomas E. Walker and Alex J. Walker.
She is survived by her brothers, James M. Walker, Sr. (Vera) of Tampa, Florida and Glenn L. Walker of Wilson, North Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews.
