Martha Rene Cockrum Griffith, daughter of the late Gallen and Rene Bell (Fields) Cockrum was born on April 26, 1936, in Round O, SC. On Friday: May 5, 2023, Martha slipped into the eternal shores of glory in Jacksonville, FL.
At an early age Martha gave her life to Christ and joined Canaan Baptist Church. Later, she relocated to Jacksonville, FL where she became a faithful member of Church of God in Christ Temple until her health began to fail. To know Martha was to love her, as she never met a stranger. She will be truly missed but her memory and legacy will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death along with her parents are daughter, Mary; granddaughter Shileia Griffith; siblings, Viola, Carl, Lucille, Gallie, Sinell, Salley, Brenice; stepmother, Mrs. Carrie Bell Haynes Cockrum and stepsiblings, Janie, Lillie, Roger, and Pete Bellinger.
Left to cherish her loving memories are daughters, Sandra Ricks and Deborah Griffith of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Shawnreno Jr. and Samuel Ricks, Alisha, Denise (Larry) Morgan, and Eddie Watkins Jr. all of Jacksonville, FL ; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillie Campbell of Sumter, SC ; one brother, Tony (Birtie) Cockrum of Round O, SC; sister in law, Janie Cockrum of Charleston, SC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
