Mother Louise Glover Smart, daughter of the late Abraham and Josephine Smalls Glover, was born August 25, 1930 in Colleton County. She was the third of thirteen children. Mother Smart departed this life on Friday, July 15, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
Mother Louise was educated in the Colleton County School System. In 1965, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Ralph Smart for 40 years. To this union they were blessed with eleven children. She worked for Comfort Inn, formerly Ramada Inn, as Head Supervisor for Housekeeping and retired in 1993. At an early age she joined Calvary Baptist Church in Round O, SC where she served faithfully on the Gospel Choir, Trustee, Deaconess, and Missionary Boards and as the Church Mother. Mother Smart loved her family and instilled many lasting memories in all that came in contact with her. She will be dearly missed.
Preceding her in death: one son, Lee Ronnie Glover, one grandson, Master Ian Smart, one great-grand, Little Miss Syria Gadson; a son-in-law, Deacon Willie Cox; nine siblings: Frank Glover, Minnie Saxby, Alice Fishburne, Jethro Glover, Rose Gantt, Joe Lee Glover, Herman Glover, Mother Queen Bellinger, and Robert Glover.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her sons, Willie James Glover of Walterboro, SC, Dean (Pam) Glover of Hinesville, GA, Deacon David (Gloria) Glover of Walterboro, SC; her daughters, Pastor Marilyn Cox of Summerville, SC, Pastor Cordelia (Jerome) Jones of Walterboro, SC, Andrea (Lester) Johnson, of Aiken, SC and Regina Smart of Cottageville, SC. 23 grandchildren, three reared in the home: Shardonne’ Simpson and Sierra Smart of Cottageville, SC and LaQresha Anstead of Raleigh, NC; 28 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, 4 step-children, 3 sisters: Dorothy Bellinger of Trenton, NJ, Emma (Anthony) Massari, Chester, CT and Mary (Ernest) Tramble of Tampa, FL; a brother-in-law, Cleveland Gantt of Tampa, FL, sisters-in-law Cornelia Martin of Walterboro, SC and Ella Glover of Cottageville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and family friends.
