Mrs. Lillie Gant Obituary

Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.”

2 Kings 4:26 (KJV)

Lillie Ree Doctor-Gant, daughter of the late Haygood Doctor and Eva Sattlefield-Doctor, was born in Colleton County on August 7, 1930. She entered into eternal rest on January 29, 2021, at the home of her sister and caregiver Jeanette Wright. She received her early education in the public schools of Colleton County. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of the Cypress Creek Christian Church family, where she served as a member of the usher board, missionary board, and president of the gospel choir.

On July 19, 1958, she united in marriage with Mr. Isaiah Gant Sr. in which they shared sixty-two blessed years in holy matrimony. Lillie was employed with Smoak’s Manufacturing Co. and cared for the elderly as a private home health aide. In her free time, Lillie enjoyed fishing with her husband and grandson. She later developed a love for couponing with her daughter, sisters, and niece. She was charming, pleasant, and loved her family. Lillie loved God and always showed her love for the Lord through song. She was the third oldest of thirteen siblings and took care of them as if they were her own. She had a loving relationship with her daughter, Pastor Shirley Ann Doctor Ferguson, who preceded her in death.

Lillie leaves to cherish her precious memories, her grandson Clyde Lewis Williams III (Katelyn) of Walterboro, SC, one (1) stepdaughter Margaret Thompson (Ron) of Rose Hill, NC, Sisters Mildred Yates, Josephine Boatwright, and Jeanette Wright, all of Walterboro, South Carolina: brothers, Edward Doctor (Gloria) of Pompano Beach, FL, Isaac Doctor of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jacob and James Doctor both of Walterboro, SC: three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death, Three sisters-in-law Margaret Richardson (Bernard) & Ruby Doctor Cooper of
Walterboro, SC: Rosetta Doctor of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. One Son-in-law Sherman Ferguson, two special nieces, Katrina (Terry) Bell & Senetra Bell who helped care for her until the end, three step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

On behalf of the family we humbly ask that you continue to lift them in prayer as they prepare to say farewell to their loved one.
