Mrs. Flora Mae Middleton Gantt, born May 22, 1947, in Walterboro, SC; was the daughter of the late Isaac Middleton, Sr. & Bertha Levine Middleton. While receiving her education in the public schools, Flora graduated from Colleton High School, in 1965. As she began in her adult years, Flora moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina. While residing there she met and married the late Mr. James Frederick. This union would be blessed with a precious little baby girl named Angel. Years later, Flora relocated back home, to Walterboro. Shortly thereafter, she met and married Mr. Ricky Gantt and this union would be blessed with another baby girl named Regina. For several years, Flora was gainfully employed with Dayco Products until their closing. She then became employed with the Colleton County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, as a Direct support staff member.
As a youth Flora accepted the Lord as her Savior and became a member of the St. Paul CME Church. She was a faithful member, and she served in several different capacities such as: Missionary Board, Stewardess Board, Weekly Bible Study, Sunday School, kitchen helper and server. On Saturday, December 4, 2021, Flora departed this life in Beaufort, SC. As she leaves this side of eternity, she is joined now by all those who precede her in death. Sibling; Rev. Left to cherish the multitude of fond memories are her two daughters, Angelee Gillard (Donavan) of Lithonia, GA, and Regina Gantt of the home: four grandchildren, April Brown, Dominique Campbell, Dakarry Brown and Serenity Brown, all of Lithonia, GA: Last sibling/sister, Angie Sylvia Gillison (Nathan) of Walterboro, SC: sister in law, Rebecca Middleton of Walterboro, SC: reared as a brother, John Graham: nieces and nephews whom she had a hand in raising are Nathan, III, Natalyn and Neveah Gillison, Nikia Johnson, Winston Smith, III. and Vic Pinckney:
special friends: Christinia Queen Brown, Azalee Green, Margie Singleton, Gertie Ford and her Food Bank Buddies: along with a host of other nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
