"A golden heart has stopped beating, working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the BEST!"
On October 9, 1943 a rose by the name of Ernestine Chisolm-Coleman was born to the late Mattie Mae Chisolm and Prime Brown. Although born to loving parents, Ernestine was reared in the home with her maternal grandmother Minnie Chisolm.
Ernestine was educated through the public schools of Colleton County. At an early age she became a member of the Mount Nebo Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mannie C. Chisolm. A faithful member until her health began to decline, she was a member of the Senior Choir and a Sunday School Teacher.
Ernestine was a true homemaker that enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren. She could often be referred to as the “Neighborhood Caregiver”. She stood on the core values of family and spending time amongst each other.
Along with her parents Ernestine is preceded in death by her sons Joey Coleman, and Grady Gregory Chisolm. During the morning hours of October 6, 2023 God decided to call his beautiful rose back to his immortal garden. Ernestine took the hand of the master and bid earth farewell surrounded by her loving family.
