Obituary

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10

Mrs. Edith Myers Stephens, daughter of the late Lena Judge and Elijah James was born March 29, 1950, in Walterboro, South Carolina. From an infant, Edith was reared by Ms. Rosa “Doll”
Myers of Green Pond, South Carolina. She received her formal education in the public school system and would graduate Colleton High School Class of 1968. She furthered her studies and
enrolled with the TCL of Beaufort, South Carolina, where she began taking cosmetology courses, until her health would no longer allow her to. As life would go on, Edith would find the love of her life, Mr. Tyrone Darren Stephens and on March 1, 1990, two would become one and be joined in Holy Matrimony. The two would share in a union of love and devotion for over thirty-three years, until her passing.

A believer in God and wanting to live a life that was pleasing, Edith was a member of the former, St. James Methodist Church of Green Pond, under the leadership of the late, Revered Arthur
Stewart. A loving wife, mother, sister, and much more: Edith was a jewel to all who she knew. Edith was a cheerful and happy lady. Full of wisdom and life, she imparted to everyone she
knew, as often as she could. She was also known for her style and class and how she would dress; and always had a blonde hair style.

During the midday hours of Friday: August 11, 2023, our loving Edith departed from the shores of time. Preceding her in death along with her parents are: grandson Martavier Barnes; brother
Benjamin James, and three sisters-in-law, Susie Judge, Annette James, and Monica Bodison.
