Mrs. Dorothy Chastina (Chas) Williams Whittington, daughter of Eddie Williams and Debra A. Gilbert Williams; was born July 2, 1988, in Walterboro, SC. Chas was educated in the public schools of Colleton County where she graduated from Colleton County High School, Class of 2006. After receiving her diploma, Chas furthered her education at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC, where she obtained bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2010. While at CCU, Chas also pledged with the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.: where she gained multiple sisters of fortitude. Chas continued her education, achieving not one but two master’s degrees from Webster University in Myrtle Beach SC.
During her years of employment, Chas began working at Wells Fargo. After working several years for Wells Fargo, her passion for Human Resources lead to a job opportunity with Vorhees College in Denmark, SC. Her dedication to Human Resources would ultimately pay off and she would return to Wells Fargo to receive her dream job as an HR Specialist.
Dorothy met the love of her life during her high school years and in 2013, she became united in holy matrimony, to Maurice Jamaal Whittington. This union would be blessed with three beautiful children, Aryne Layla, Maurice Whittington, Jr., and Braylan Kyrie Whittington.
Affectionately known as “Chas” by all her family and friends, she was a loving person. She possessed a smile that you never would be able to tell the difference if she was having a good day or a bad day. Even in her sickness and battles, she still cared and wanted to help others. Showing love as she traveled along life's journey and pushing through her pain; Chas sought to ensure that everyone was taken care of and that everything was done.
After an extensive battle against leukemia; during the evening hours of Saturday; November 26, 2022, Chas won, and traded her time on earth for an eternity with her Lord and Savior. Her departure on this side has truly left a void, but the essence of her life, will forever leave a multitude of wonderful portraits of her life. Preceding her in death are her maternal and paternal grandparents and one beloved Uncle Ernest B Gilbert.
Left to embrace the many fond memories of her life are loving and devoted husband, Maurice Jamaal Whittington; one daughter, Aryne Layla Whittington, two sons Maurice Jamaal Whittington Jr, and Braylan Kyrie Whittington, all of the home: mother and father, Eddie and Debra Williams, of Walterboro, SC: Mother-in-law, Frances Whittington of Marion, SC: aunts; Jennie Bowman, Ernestine Brown and Sandra Williams: uncles; Johnny Gilbert, Calvin Williams and Coy Gilbert: Great aunt, Ruby Lee Grissentaner: one special sister, Ashley Bishop; along with a host of numerous other relatives and friends.
