Mrs. Dionna Kinard Obituary

Mrs. Dionna Yvette Lawrence-Kinard was born on August 1, 1975, in East Orange, New Jersey. The daughter of Janet Audrey Highsmith and the late, Thomas Henry Lawrence Jr., she was reared by her grandmother the late, Mary Napier and Mr. Robert L. Highsmith.  She began receiving her education in the public schools of Elizabeth, N.J. and later moved south to graduate with honors from Walterboro High School, Class of 1993.  Upon her graduation, she began to further her studies with Denmark Technical College graduating on May 14, 2014, with her associate degree.  For the last ten years, Dionna has been dedicated to being employed as an Account Receivable Specialist, along with being able to create her own business in Tax Services.

On April 14, 2006, Dionna was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Shannon Kinard. Dionna was an avid believer in her faith in God.  She accepted Christ at an early age and would attend Cumberland United Methodist Church with her family. As time progressed, she later joined New Covenant Fellowship Ministries, in Greenpond, South Carolina.

Affectionately known as “Dee Dee”, to know her was not only to love her but to draw close to her.  She was selfless, loving and always willing to forgive.  Ultimately on Friday, April 22, 2022, our dear Dee Dee traded time for eternity and departed this earthly life, while at the Colleton Medical Center, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Along with her father, and grandmother, she is also preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Lora K. Henderson.

Left to cherish her memories are: loving and devoted husband, Shannon Kinard of the home; five children, Brianna Lawrence, Jamal Coaxum, Jamari Lawrence, Shidez Kinard and Shamar Kinard all of South Carolina; mother, Janet Highsmith of Green Pond, SC; mother and father in law, Florrie & Alvin Behlin of Walterboro, SC; Siblings, Alicia Dowdy of Orlando, Florida, DeSean Drayton (Rakita) of Puyallup, Washington, Fatoya Lawrence and Thomas H.
