Mr. Willie Womble Obituary

"And God shall wipe away all the tears from their eyes; and there shall be nor more death, neither sorrows, nor crying; neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."     Revelations 21:

Mr. Willie James Womble, son of the late Odell Maree and Floretta Summers Womble, was born March 13, 1945, in Walterboro, South Carolina. As a youth he started his formal education in the public schools of Colleton County. He would enter the workforce with the Colleton County Hospital. As time progressed, Willie relocated to New York where he received his high school diploma. He then ventured and opened his own record shop distribution, located on 125th Street, in Harlem, New York.  Laboring for some time, Willie then moved to Washington, D.C. to become a C.N.A. at the George Washington University Hospital. Willie then began employment with the Carillon Assisted Living facilities as a front desk clerk and maintenance.

After spending numerous years working and being up north, Willie returned back to Walterboro, May 6, 2018. Affectionately known as "Ricky" to all of his friends and family,  he was well loved. He was a man who loved helping people, he gave to the homeless, fed those in need, and did a lot of volunteer work throughout the community.

On Tuesday: September 24, 2019; Willie departed this earthly life for his eternal rest, while being surrounded by his loving family at the Colleton Medical Center.
