Mr. Willie (Bill) Leroy Sanders, was born on August 20, 1944, to the late Laurie and Maggie Lee Sanders in Walterboro, SC. He departed this life on 'Tuesday, April 4, 2023. 'Bill, as he is affectionately known, gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was married to Margurite Sanders on April 21, 1976, for forty-seven years, while residing in Queens, NY. During August 2022, they both moved to Atlanta, GA, after his retirement from the trucking industry, as a over the road driver for forty-nine years. He enjoyed driving, listening to music, cars, baseball, and visiting with family and friends.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by, one daughter, Monique Williams: granddaughter. Malaysia Grimball Sanders: six brothers; Marion, Clyde, Luther, John, Nathaniel, and Clarence Sanders: and three sisters; Lucielle Sanders, Annette Nichols and Diane Kelly
This man with a big heart was well loved. He leaves to cherish his memories, beloved and devoted wife, Margurite Sanders of the home: seven sons; Willie Sanders, Jr. (Sweetly), Willie Mandel Saunders (Dionne), Willie James Williams (Tia), Marcus Johnson, Tyrone Haynes (Diane), Timothy Sanders (Kimbili), and Lamont Sanders: eight daughters; Wilhelmina Sanders, Angela Gillison (Nathan), Cynthia Hill (Curtis), Michelle Williams, Monica Nelson (Don), Theresa Carmara (Louis), Renee Sanders and Timika Sanders: brothers, Ervin Sanders and Leroy (Tina) Sanders: two sisters, Williebee Holmes and Greta (Nathaniel) Ford: sisters-in-law; Hazel Sander and Betty Scott: brother in law, Harris Kelly: a multitude of grand and great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
