Mr. Willie ("Mash") Brown, Jr.

Mr. Willie Brown, Jr., the oldest son of the late, Willie Brown, Sr. & Rosa Lee Francis Brown; was born on April 25, 1948, in Yemassee, South Carolina.  In his early years, Willie grew up on the Cherokee Plantation, and later moved to the Roadside community of Yemassee, South Carolina.  Receiving his education in the public school system, he was a graduate of Colleton High School class of 1967. Upon completing his high school education, he entered the workforce.  He was employed with Dayco for several years, and then became employed with the Colleton County School District as a custodian.  

Willie would relocate to New York and reside there for fifteen years. Afterwards, he would return to his native home in Roadside.  He was an avid believer in God and became a baptized member of the Mount Nebo Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Mannie C. Chisolm.  Willie was a man that believed in the importance of family.  His family ties ran deep and would cradle him, during the most trying times of his life.  The love and care he demonstrated, shall never be forgotten or relinquished.  

On Monday, July 4, 2022, while in Beaufort Memorial Hospital; while stuck in the golden hands of time, Willie journeyed to his eternal home.  Left to cherish his legacy are; loving mother, Rosa Lee Brown of Aiken, SC; two daughters, Kim (Reverend Elijah) Broughton of Walterboro, SC and Sherese Kerrison of New York; three sons, Jason (Dominique) Brown of Walterboro, SC,  Craig Brown of Denver, Colorado and Greg (Martina) Middleton of Boston, MA; one sister, Jane Brown of Augusta, GA; four brothers, John Brown of Aiken, SC, James (Lillie Mae) Brown of Yemassee, SC, Herbert (Audrey) Brown of Walterboro, SC and Ronald Brown of Savannah, GA; special friend of seventeen years, Linda Washington of Yemassee, SC; along with a host of numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
