Mr. William James Grant

Mr. William James Grant, son of the late Joseph Grant Sr. and Alberta Smith Grant: was born on January 15, 1943 in Charleston, SC. Educated in the public schools of Charleston, he graduated from Burke High School. As William entered into his adult years, he desired and served in the United States Army.  He would serve faithfully for almost three years, until his honorable discharge on November 5, 1970.

After his discharge, William became a professional painter. Later, he would become employed with Sam’s Club. William was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. If you knew him, you would know that he was who he was. 

During the early morning hours of Tuesday: March 28, 2023; William departed from this earthly life.  Preceding him in death along with his parents are his favorite cousin Edward “John” Grant as they spent many enjoyable months together in the military at Fort. Louis in Seattle, Washington.

Left to cherish his loving memories; his wife Catherine E. Grant; daughter, Sharon Glover; stepchildren, Arminta Muhammad, Denise Delmara, and Nicolo Rawlings; grandchildren, Zoe Henderson, Romonde Glover, and Jesse Lawson; siblings, Wanda Daniels, Joseph Grant Jr., Alanda Maria Grant, Kimberely Grant, and Sonya Grant; along with a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
