There is an inescapable hour of peace, that comes to everyone. That hour came to our dear beloved Theodore Washington, on Monday: April 11, 2022, while at the Regional Medical Hospital of Orangeburg, South Carolina. Son of the late, Mrs. Corrine Pryor Washington and Deacon Jessie James Washington; Theodore was born February 12, 1953, in the Brick Chimney (Robinson) Community of Yemassee, South Carolina. He received his formal education in the local public school system and graduated from Colleton High School. Upon his graduation, he entered the workforce, and spent several years being employed with J. P. Stevens Company as a laborer.
Affectionately known to all as, “Red Man” to know him was a joy and you could only help but to love him. He was a soft spoken and kindhearted person. He was always willing to help and lend a hand to others.
Preceding him in death along with his parents are one brother, Sam Washington and one sister, Rose Ann Washington. Left to mourn his passing are his siblings, Cora(Joseph) Green of Summerville, SC; Ruth Wilkey of Walterboro, South Carolina; Senovia (Reverend Kelly) Spann, II, of Cross, South Carolina and Clifford (Grace) Washington of Walterboro, South Carolina: sixteen nieces and nephews: one uncle, Arthur (Sandra) Washington of Yemassee, South Carolina: six aunts, Rebecca Pryor of Yemassee, South Carolina, Queen Thomas of Greenville, South Carolina; Martha Richardson of Lexington, South Carolina; Mary Linen of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Ernestine “Peachie” Washington of Big Estate, South Carolina: along with a host of other relatives and friends.
