Respectfully, we honor the legacy of the life of Mr. Ned Dubois. Ned DuBois is the son of the Late Mr. James Obie DuBois and the Late Mrs. Ivory Goodwin DuBois. He was one of fourteen children born into their union. He was born on December 12, 1923 in Ruffin, SC and departed his life on Monday, December 16, 2019 in the Summerville Community Hospice House in Summerville, South Carolina.
He attended the public schools of Colleton County. After leaving school, he decided to move to New York where he worked as a Truck Driver until he retired. In 2004 he returned to his home state of South Carolina and resided in Walterboro. He is a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he attended faithful until his health declined. In 2016, he moved to Goose Creek into an Assistant Living Facility before entering into his eternal rest.
He is survived by his two children: daughter, Margie P. Rogers (Tyrone) of Goose Creek, SC, son, Ned DuBois Jr, of Walterboro, SC, four grandchildren: Lora L. Crosby of El Paso, TX; Veronica Carter (Charles) of North Charleston, SC; Gregory Crosby ( Millie) of El Paso, TX; Benita P. Rogers of Goose Creek, SC; two great grandchildren: Charles Michael Carter Jr of North Charleston, SC; Aaliyah Jailene Crosby of El Paso, TX; two sisters Bertha DuBois Newton and Jean Iveria DuBois Armstead both of Ruffin , SC and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary B. Gripper DuBois; four sisters: Mabel J. DuBois; Susan DuBois Stephens; Lucille DuBois Whitfield; Pinkey O. DuBois Steward; seven brothers: James O. (JD) DuBois, Albert G. DuBois; Birdie Lee DuBois; Henry H. DuBois; Herbert Hoover DuBois; Charles Edward Lindberg DuBois; Bobby Jacob DuBois
