Maurice Powell was born on October 11th, 1971, in Cottageville South Carolina. He entered Eternal rest on Tuesday May 24, 2022. He was the son of the late Herman and Miriam Powell. He attended the Colleton County public school system and graduated in 1989. Maurice obtained a certificate in welding. Then used his certification for employment with Detyens Shipyard INC, Schueck Steel and Force Protection as a welder for 20 years. He was also employed by the Boeing Company as a Manufacturing Technician until he was medically retired due to his health condition.
Maurice was dedicated to his wife and children. He made sure they were taken care of. Maurice was a man of God and faith. He knew the Bible to its entirety. Big Moe had a big laugh that was contagious. His favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys. He had a hearty appetite for his work ethics and big meals. He loved to entertain company and entertain himself by watching He-Man, the cartoon and Gunsmoke.
Maurice is survived by his wife Renee Powell, brother Leonard Powell of Walterboro South Carolina, five children Maurice of North Charleston, Sequoia of Summerville, South Carolina Deandre of North Charleston South Carolina Moneice of Barksdale Louisiana Air Force Base and Jameer of Summerville South Carolina. Three grandchildren Royalty, Skylar (Tinkerbell) and Gianna (Gigi). Grandmother Mary Davis, Mother-in-law Sarah Brown, eleven sisters -in-law and five brothers-in-law, seven aunts, three uncles and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, special cousins, Roger Martin, Dana Frasier, and Davey White and loving friends.
Big Moe said, "No sorrow and remember me in the flesh. My body was just a shell and my soul is now with my God. In the name of Jesus Christ".
