Mr. Lonnie Brooks Copeland, Jr.; son of the late Lonnie B. & Sarah Jane Copeland; was born June 19, 1960, in the Ashton community of Islandton, SC. Lonnie was educated in the public-schools of Colleton County and graduated with Ruffin High School class of 1978. Entering his adulthood, Lonnie entered the workforce with the SCE&G power plant in Canadys. As time brought about change, Lonnie became talented in many different trades, however; he found his passion in carpentry. Recently, he was formerly employed with Harold Murdaugh Construction.
From an early age, he was an avid man of faith. He became a member of the Ashton Branch Christian Church and remained until his passing. To know Lonnie was a joy, he not only enjoyed spending time with his family: he was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan.
On Tuesday: December 14, 2021; Lonnie departed from this earthly life; while in the comfort of his home. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by, two brothers: Gary and Quincy Copeland.
Left to cherish his memories are: two brothers, Sherry Copeland of Islandton, SC and William Copeland of Charleston, SC.: sisters, Cynthia (Tyrone) Brisbane of Charleston, SC, and Stephina Williams of Islandton, SC: sister-in-law, Joyce Copeland of Savannah, GA: one loving aunt, Eartha Wells of Lynchburg, SC; along with a host of numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
