Mr. Larry "Gary" Green, Sr.

His Birth

Mr. Larry Crayton Green, Sr., son of the late Solomon Green, Sr., and Retha Green Frasier, was born on May 6th, 1959, in the Ritter community of Walterboro, SC. Receiving his education in the public schools of Colleton County, Larry graduated Colleton High class of 1977. As he stepped into adulthood, Larry entered the workforce, and began an extensive career as a Machinist at Best Steel Corporation and Wheelabrator Group Incorporated.

His Love

On June 30, 1987, Larry Green, Sr was united and became one with his wife Deborah Levine Green. They received God’s grace through the birth of two loving children: Shakerra and Larry Jr.

His Cherished Memories

Affectionately called, “Gary”, his life was filled with many memories. His children often would reminisce on the times where he would spend quality time with them. Other memories would be of him playing basketball and different sports, cooking, and even exploring different parts of the community and different areas. 

Larry grew up in a home, learning of the love of God.  As an adult he would often fellowship with the Cumberland United Methodist Church and even sang on the choir.  He was loved and demonstrated in many different ways, to his family and friends. 

On Wednesday July 26, 2023, Larry departed from this life. Though his departure leaves a true void, his life and legacy will forever be cherished in our hearts. Preceding him in death along with his beloved father are: sister, Sarah Blue and two brothers, Elijah Frasier and Sammie Frasier, Jr.

Larry’s life will be honored and cherished by his: mother, Sister Retha Frasier; wife, Deborah Green; children Shakerra Green and Larry Green, Jr.: grandchildren Jahmari Johnson, Jaylan Johnson, Jameira Johnson: great-granddaughter, Kamari Johnson and great-grandson, Kadin Johnson:  brothers, Solomon (Carrie) Green, Jr. and Anthony (Lisa) Green: sisters Lou Ethel (William) Scott, Janie Frasier, Henrietta Rivers, Mary Lane, Rosa Frasier, Gloria (Richard) Elbert, Sarah Frasier, Dannie (David) Frasier, Alma Dubois, Loutricia (John) Sanders and  Roslyn (Harvey) Buckner: brothers in law, Lee Blue, Anthony Levine and Walter Graham, Sr.: sisters in law, Regina Frasier, Marilyn Frasier, Broniaque Brown and Jacqueline Levine:  two close friends, Heather Tallent and Kevin Snyder:  along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
