The Legacy of Life
Larry Danner, son of the late Albert and Evelena Danner was born on July 11, 1948, in Walterboro, South Carolina. He was one of nine children.
Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, brothers Nathaniel Williams and Ulysses Danner, and one sister, Alberta Danner Gladden. He joined Calvary AME Church at an early age and served on several boards and never left his original base. Later in life, he moved to New York and began worshiping at Pleasant Grove Tabernacle where he served as a Deacon under the direction of Bishop Jamison. He was also known as a father of the church at Pleasant Grove.
Larry attended High School in Walterboro, South Carolina where he was a football player for the Colleton High School football team. Upon graduation, he worked at a Chemical Plant. He left South Carolina and moved to Philadelphia and then to Washington DC, where he worked as a Construction worker at Hymen Construction Company, and finally moved to New York, where he has resided for most of his life. He” loved” Brooklyn so much that he returned on multiple occasions calling it his home.
Larry departed this life on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Brooklyn Hospital in Brooklyn New York. He leaves to cherish his memories: Evelyn Beasley and Sylvia Danner both of Jacksonboro, SC; Lillie Romeo and Patricia Danner, of Goose Creek, SC; Betty Washington (Albert) of Columbia, SC: one Aunt, Annabell Danner of Bronx, New York; Leatha Brock his high school sweetheart whom he maintained a close relationship with: two special cousins Charlene Truesdale and Oliver Campbell: special niece, Jaqueline Beasley and, nephew, Keith B.Danner, Sr. along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom he truly valued and loved.
