The Obituary
Mr. Kenneth Adolph Belton, son of the late, Lena Belton, was born April 10, 1953, in White Plains, New York. Raise in Ruffin, South Carolina; Kenneth was reared his late Uncle (Dad) Harvey Belton; and with his brothers (Cousins) whom he loved and adored. Kenneth was educated in the Colleton County public school system, graduating with the Ruffin High School class of 1970. Kenneth enjoyed his time with his classmates and lifelong friends. He returned to New York and was employed at Merrill Lynch and Prudential Financial.
Kenneth had a love for and was a champion bowler who traveled with his pro-bowling league and won many trophies. He was also a competitive checker player. Kenneth was a true giver at heart and showered his loved ones with his presence as well as his laughter. Kenneth found great joy in being able to reconnect and fellowship with some of his high school classmates and friends upon relocating to South Carolina. It gave him such great joy, when his health permitted, him to join them for gatherings, specifically taking a Dinner Cruise out of Charleston Harbor.
After an extended illness, our dear Kenneth, while at the St. George Nursing Home in St. George, SC, departed from the shores of time on February 5, 2023. Along with his mother, he is also preceded in death by: sister; Lillian Belton, Uncle (Dad); Harvey Belton, sisters-in-love; Merrio Belton and Brenda Belton, Lily Belton; and cousin (sister); Sereta Brannum.
Left to cherish his memories by his brothers; Herman Belton of Lexington, South Carolina; Odell Belton and Martin Belton, both of Ruffin, South Carolina; James (Donnie) Belton, Orangeburg, South Carolina; and Donald (Mardell) Belton of Lexington, South Carolina; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever celebrate his legacy.
