Mr. John Lorenzo Hampleton, son of the late Hilliard and Edie Hampleton was born June 13, 1945, in Cottageville SC, He departed this earthly life on Tuesday August 15, 2023, at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC. He attended the public schools of Colleton County; John was a man of many talents. He loved singing, talking trash and having fun. He touched many lives with his presence. John was employed with Roger’s Construction company for many years until his health began to decline.
In March of 1969, John married the love of his life Alberta Hampleton, even though he didn’t have any biological children, he had a special bond with all his nieces and nephews. To them John was more than just an uncle, he was a father figure.
Along with his Parents, John was preceded in death by his four brothers: Thomas Hampleton, Jack Hampleton, Clyde Hampleton, and Robert Hampleton. Two sisters; Willie B. Holmes and Lorine H. Fishburne. One brother-in-law Charles Fishburne. One Niece; Bernice Bennett. Four Nephews; Navar Bennett, Zackary Bennett, Keith Walker, Johnathan Walker and His paternal and Maternal Grandparents.
Those left to cherish his life living are Wife; Alberta Hampleton of Cottageville, SC. Two Sisters; Pearl (John) Hampleton Green of Cottageville, SC, and Jestine (Nathan) Walker of Cottageville, SC. Three Sisters-In-law; Betty Jean Hampleton of Washington, DC, Elaine Green of Cottageville, SC, Leigh McDonald of Round O’, SC. One brother-in-law Jay Green of Florida. His bonus family: Cheryl Griffith of Columbia, SC whom in which played a major part of his life, along with the Griffith family of Cottageville, SC. A host of Neice, Nephews and other family and friends.
