Mr. John Lee Fishburne

Bro. John Lee Fishburne, son of the late Gertrude F. Wiggins and Lester Reed, was born on February 10, 1952, in Walterboro, SC. He took his eternal rest on February 11,2023.  John Lee was reared by his grandmother Mamie L. Fishburne. He completed his education at Walterboro High School and was employed with the Vocational Center for many years. At an early age, he joined Trinity AME of Round O, SC. He served faithfully until moving to New York to live with his Uncle Eli, Aunt Katie, cousins Robert, Darryl, and Travis whom loved him dearly and treated him like a big brother. He joined, The Church of God in Christ of Bridgehampton, NY and served faithfully until death. John’s favorites song was, “I have a bible I could read, If I don’t read it and my soul get lost its nobody fault but mine.” 

Preceding him in death are two brothers: Ronnie Wiggins and Daniel (Bug) Wiggins, and one sister, Carolyn Wiggins. 

 Those left to cherish his memories are his siblings; Dennis Wiggins, Connie Wiggins, Gwendolyn Wiggins, Blanche(Joseph) Hamilton, Arlene (Thomas) Shider, and Redell (Eric) Dungey; two aunts; Diane Delee and Susie Doctor; three uncles; Charles Fishburne, Elder Eli (Katie-B), and Elder Ernest (Patricia) Fishburne; One great aunt; Allean Pringle and one great uncle; Roosevelt Simmons. A devoted God Sister whom he loved dearly; Joann (Frank) Jenkins along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
