Mr. Johannesburg "Papa Joe" Givens

Johannesburg Givens, better known as “Papa Joe” to some, was born on June 22, 1960 in Savannah Georgia to the late Marion and Ellamae Givens Sr. who preceded him in death. He received his early education in New York City, then moved to Savannah, Ga where he graduated from Beach High School. After Graduating, he became a Merchant Welder and Automotive
Mechanic. He had a great love for music and playing the guitar. He was a loving husband who loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed working on cars and
making others laugh with his witty jokes.

On August 28, 2006 he married the love of his life who he would always refer to as his “Queen”. The blended family formed from this union, gave “Papa Joe” the large family he always longed for.

Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday: April 7, 2021 3:00-6:00 PM at the mortuary. Graveside Services for Mr. Givens are scheduled for Thursday: April 8, 2021; Williams Cemetery, Yemasee, SC at Eleven O' Clock In the morning.
